Having grown up around the business and watching TCI evolve from the kitchen table to what it is today, I have a strong desire to maintain the culture here and ultimately change the industry for the better. I am passionate about working with young professionals to achieve far better financial outcomes and achieve peace of mind.
Being a good person. Doing the right thing. Putting others’ interests first. Those are just some of the important lessons I learned at an early age and were the backbone behind TCI Wealth Advisors when it was founded in 1990. It’s still the philosophy of our firm and I am deeply honored to continue the TCI legacy as the Chief Executive Officer, an Advisor and a Shareholder.
At TCI, people are at the heart of everything we do and it’s definitely what I love most about my job. Listening, learning and then helping craft a customized plan to achieve our clients’ goals is where I find the most joy. I’ve always believed if you do the right thing and do it for the right reasons, good things will happen. This philosophy applies to all aspects of my life, whether it’s guiding my clients on their financial journey, mentoring young people about wealth management or giving back to the community through volunteering, teaching, coaching and charitable planning.
Helping others arrive at positive financial outcomes and achieve peace of mind through trusted, respectful, honest and open communication is what makes it all worthwhile. And frankly, it’s my commitment to every client I am lucky enough to help.
The most important thing I want people to know about me is that, in essence, I am here to learn about you. Your goals. Your needs. Your passion. Your philosophy. The more I know about my clients, the more I can help, and the more good we can do – together. I’ve been very blessed in life, both personally and professionally. I’ve worked very hard in life and nothing has been handed to me, but I’ve also had good fortune and great opportunities. As such, I have always strived to pay-it-forward, give back, and assist others however I can, as helping others has exponential value.
As a kid I thought I’d be a professional baseball player, a professor or perhaps even a Nobel Prize winning scientist. Frankly, being a financial advisor wasn’t really on my radar. But life has a way of helping you along, and I soon realized how many of the aspects of those “dream jobs” were also cornerstones of the financial industry. (The fact that I could throw a baseball really hard but couldn’t hit a curveball didn’t help my baseball dreams either.) Thankfully I chose this career path, because it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Quite simply, I enjoy what I do and the people I work with.
I have been in Tucson most of my life–my wife is a 5th generation Arizonan and my kids are 6th generation. We truly love living in the desert and adore this city, our community, the college and more. The weather. The wildlife. The access to outdoor activities. The people. All of it is entwined in my family’s daily lives and we love to explore and enjoy Arizona with our two children: hiking, swimming, biking and beyond. Our absolute favorite activity? Golf! It’s a great family activity especially in the Southwest – and allows us to get some exercise, make some memories and teach our kids some life lessons along the way.
