Douglas L. Nelson, CPA, PFS
From the beginning, I wanted to bring the integrity of the CPA world into the financial planning world. When we say clients come first, we mean it. Every aspect of our firm makes this promise a priority. From client communications to one-on-one contact, we promote and support only options in the best interest of the client.
Douglas L. Nelson, CPA, PFS is an advisor and shareholder at TCI Wealth Advisors. Doug has received numerous national recognitions based upon his belief that investment success involves integrating clients’ lifestyle goals with their investment plans. During the last decade, Worth, Barron’s, and Bloomberg Magazine regularly recognized Doug’s work as one of the top, independent financial advisors in the nation.
In 2011, Doug published the book Art, Artists & Money, available at artartistsmoney.com, with the goal of helping creative professionals better understand their financial options as artists. Recently, Doug joined the Board of Directors for the School for Advanced Research in Santa Fe.
Doug spends time with his wife, Brenda, and his family in Reno, Santa Fe and recently moved to Tucson. He is a passionate fly fisherman, including a one-in-a-lifetime fishing expedition on the Amazon, and enjoys tying his own flies. Doug is also an aficionado of craft beer, single-malt whiskeys, and cigars and states that regular exercise keeps his vices under control. He also stays “civilized” as his wife takes him to art galleries, shows and openings.
