A Year Worth Reflecting On
Some years feel like they move fast. Others feel like they ask for patience and resilience. This past year managed to do both, sometimes within the same week. (Anyone else feel like life occasionally resembles a group text with too many opinions and not enough clarity? Or is that just my family’s group text?) But what stood out to us was not the noise of the headlines. It was the steadiness, heart, and thoughtfulness of the people we get to walk alongside.
We watched families have meaningful conversations about the future, many of them long overdue and almost always rooted in care. We saw generosity expressed in new ways not only in dollars, but in time, encouragement, service, and support for loved ones and communities. We helped people navigate career decisions, retirement transitions, unexpected change, and seasons of reflection.
And somehow, life kept happening too: family milestones, travel adventures, celebrations, and just enough chaos to remind us we are all human. (With a fifth grader, a second grader, and a new puppy I can personally confirm “calm” is a relative concept.)
Progress, Planning, and What We Can Control
Money is rarely just about money. It carries hopes, questions, emotions, and responsibility. If at any point this year you found yourself thinking, “Should I be doing more?” or “Am I still on track?” you were far from alone.
Progress does not come from perfection. It comes from intention, clarity, courage, and taking steady steps toward a life that reflects what matters most to you.
One of our favorite exercises is to look back on long-term clients and see how many of their goals were achieved and how accurate those projections from long ago turned out to be. The accuracy is not because we had a crystal ball, but because we had an intentional plan using what we can control to navigate through all the things we cannot.
Grateful for the Journey We Share
We are deeply grateful to be part of your journey. To sit with you in the questions. To help you navigate decisions. To support you through change. And to celebrate the big moments, the quiet moments, and everything in between. It is truly one of the great privileges of my life to lead TCI and to watch our team show up every day with care, humility, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
As you look ahead to 2026, I hope you also take a moment to recognize the kinds of wins that rarely make it into year-end summaries:
- A conversation that created connection
- A decision that brought peace of mind
- A habit that brought you closer to your values
- A moment where you paused to enjoy the life you have worked hard to build
- An impact you made on your family, your community, or yourself
Those are milestones that matter.
Thank you for trusting us and for being part of this community. On behalf of everyone at TCI, we are grateful for you and excited for the year ahead.
