Celebrating Independence

TCI

A firm the size of TCI’s remaining independent is becoming rare as mergers and acquisitions become increasingly prevalent in our industry. As the financial industry continues to change, TCI celebrates its steadfast and uncompromising commitment to our clients and independence. So, without further ado, here is an overview of what independence means to TCI:

  • Independence is one of our core values and something that grounds all of our decisions as a firm.

  • Independence means being owned by employees who are active in the firm, have a vested interest in empowering purpose-filled lives and fully living out our values in our actions and relationships.

  • Independence ensures that we are always able to act as a fiduciary, putting our clients’ interests first, thereby avoiding the conflicts of interest inherent with advisors offering proprietary products.

  • Independence informs our thinking so we can make long-term decisions and aren’t beholden to short-term profits. It allows us to make decisions in the best interest of being a 100-year firm so we’re here for you, your children and your grandchildren.

Here is what some of our Advisors think about being part of an independent firm:

An independent firm means we have the autonomy to make decisions that are in the best interest of our clients and employees. Decisions about TCI aren’t made by mysterious corporate officers they are made by shareholders who show up to TCI offices everyday.

Lauren Williams, MBA, CFP®, Advisor, Denver

As a member of TCI’s Investment Committee, independence means that we get the freedom to choose investments that meet our rigorous standards. We aren’t obliged to anyone’s performance expectations but our own. Our committee’s goal is to provide our clients with the best investment experience possible.

Josh Rennie, CFP®, AIF®, Advisor, Reno

TCI values being independent and a fiduciary. That means clients don’t need to be concerned about whether we are providing certain advice because we’ll receive kickbacks or commissions. We never have and never will. Our sole focus is being your trusted partner on your financial journey.

Kyle Larson, CFP®, Advisor, Scottsdale

Being a part of an independent firm is an absolute must for me. TCI’s independence has allowed me to follow my passion and bring sustainable investment opportunities to our clients. TCI allows us to align client’s values with their portfolios.

Lily Styrmoe, CFP®, CSRIC™, Advisor, Tucson

Independence means being able to work with everyone, no matter where someone might be on their financial journey. Each member of Team TCI is here to help and be a resource. Money plays such a huge role in everyone’s life and we truly want every person to be educated about it.

Troy Chrane, CFP®, MSPFP, Advisor, Flagstaff
