Bill Moss, CPA/PFS
From the beginning, I wanted to bring the integrity of the CPA world into the financial planning world. When we say clients come first, we mean it. Every aspect of our firm makes this promise a priority. From client communications to one-on-one contact, we promote and support only options in the best interest of the client.
Douglas L. Nelson, CPA, PFS is an advisor and shareholder at TCI Wealth Advisors (”TCI”). In 2007, Doug merged the firm he founded (AQN Advisors, Inc.) with TCI. Prior to founding AQN he co-founded and served as co-managing partner of Ashley Quinn CPAs in Incline Village, Nevada. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Doug served as controller for several hotel casinos in northern Nevada and as a CPA with the firm Pannell, Kerr, Forster.
Doug has received numerous national recognitions based upon his belief that investment success involves integrating clients’ lifestyle goals with their investment plans. He has also earned multiple recognitions from industry publications, including Worth, Barron’s and Bloomberg Magazine. Doug takes an active role in both professional and local organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Santa Fe Estate Planning Council. Most recently, he was named the first non-attorney member of the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Lawyers for the Arts and currently serves as Treasurer. Doug is also a former board member of the American Red Cross-Northern Nevada chapter and the past treasurer for the Board of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
In 2011, Doug published the book Art, Artists & Money, available at artartistsmoney.com , which he wrote for artists who can benefit from industry specific guidance for their financial well-being. He is currently working on a second book focused on helping athletes make wiser financial decisions.
Doug spends time with his wife, Brenda, and his family in both Reno and Santa Fe. He is a passionate fly fisherman, including a one-in-a-lifetime fishing expedition on the Amazon, and enjoys tying his own flies. Doug is also a big fan of craft beer, single-malt whiskeys, and cigars and states that regular exercise keeps his vices under control. He also stays “civilized” as his wife takes him to art galleries, shows and openings.
