
Douglas L. Nelson, CPA, PFS, is a shareholder at TCI Wealth Advisors. Doug has received numerous national recognitions based upon his belief that investment success involves integrating clients’ lifestyle goals with their investment plans. In 2008, Doug was named by Worth as one of the “Top 25 Wealth Advisors” in the country. In 2007, Doug was recognized as the top independent investment advisor in Nevada as well as one of the top 100 investment advisors in the nation by Barron’s. He also has been named in Bloomberg Magazine’s “Top Wealth Manager” Report for the past five years.
Prior to founding AQN Advisors, Inc. which merged with TCI in late 2007, he was co-founder and co-managing partner of Ashley Quinn CPAs in Incline Village. He has served as Controller for several hotel casinos in northern Nevada and as a CPA with the firm of Pannell, Kerr, Forster. Doug is a former Board member of the American Red Cross-Northern Nevada chapter and is the Treasurer for the Board of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. His professional memberships include: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Reno Estate Planning Council. He has also recently been named as the first non-attorney to become a member of the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Lawyers for the Arts.

Doug enjoys spending time with his family in both Reno and Santa Fe and is an avid outdoorsman who is a passionate runner and fly fisherman.
